| said: Had a great holiday at this excellant resort. Apartments are spotless and poolside area very clean, looks just like the brochure. Entertainment was very good, food at complex was a bit poor quality and overpriced, service very slow. Kids clubs very well run, especially the creche. Reps were a bit vague and only seemed to want to push the expensive excursions.
Sunbeds are a problem if you get up any later than 8.00am, We were glad we had a poolside view from our apartment as the other side only overlooks another concrete block.
Best place we visited was Cala D'or and Port of Alcudia, much better resturants there.
Be wary when hiring cars from hotel, you have to return the car by 8.00pm the night before which means you don't get the full days hire.
Overall a great holiday, pity its so far from the main centre though.

Apartments were sparkling clean, maids six days a week, clean towels and complimentary toiletries as required.
Clean pool areas and many pools to choose from. Family friendly all round.
We used the restaurant on a daily basis, normally you can pay a set price for the evening buffet and eat until you cant fit anymore food in. Varied themes to the food, plenty of vegetarian food available. Service staff are friendly.
Would highly recommend these apartments.

| said: Had to post a review after having a fantastic 2 week family holiday at the Playa Garden Apartments! The complex was beautifully clean, with low-rise accommodation (nice and roomy, clean, air-conditioning and balcony).
The pool area was lovely, with a shallow pool area ideal for children, a deeper pool and an even deeper pool. Very well maintained and a lovely place to spend a relaxing time. The grounds are great too, with a well-stocked supermarket (fantastic opening hours, we arrived on resort at 9.30 in the evening but were able to get the basics from the shop).
The entertainment programme at the hotel was excellent. Throughout the day there was a variety of activities for the children and adults, and then in the evening a great mini-disco for the children and show for the whole family. Sarah, Tony, Johanna and Paul and the rest of the team worked so hard during the day and then into the night and were absolutely fantastic.
The children (aged 7 and 4) said they had the best holiday ever. It was certainly our best holiday since we became a family and I would recommend to anyone with small children!

| said: Just come back from a 2 weeks at Playa Garden and really enjoyed ourselves.
Apartments are of a high quality and we were lucky enough to have a poolside and sea view.
Hotel staff were very good although there were a couple of times when they were slow to pick up smashed glass which is worrying when children are walking around with no shoes!
Entertainment team made our holiday, they were a very professional crew and Sarah should be proud of her team. In particular we liked Sarah, Tony, Paul, Renee, Johanna, Anders and Joest.
We ate at the Buffet most nights and food was very good. Ensure you take advantage of the Happy Hour between 7pm and 8pm and get two bottle of wine for the price of one. One day we ate at the restaurant opposite Bulls Steak House which was poor to say the least.
Sunbeds are a problem ended up setting alarm for earlier than we would do at home to ensure we got up in time.

The staff were very friendly although I have to admit the food was a bit pricey and not great. However the nearby Muro Underground restaurant is a must.
It is an excellent resort and although has all the basics isn't buzzing.

| said: Just come back from a week's holiday at this hotel. I read the reviews on this page before we went and found them accurate and very useful. There wasn't much for this year though so I thought I'd post a review. Here goes....
The best bits:
The location of the hotel is fabulous being right on the beach. Lovely white sandy beach which was great for sandcastles and similar. 7 Euros to hire 2 beds and shade was a bit pricey though. The pool is big and very well laid out with little bridges and a sloping entrance for the children. Our children (aged 2 & 6mths)loved it, especially playing with the inflatables that are provided and splashing around in the children's mini pool.
The hotel grounds are very well laid out with shaded walkways (which are very pleasant if you spend most of the evening pushing a baby around trying to get him to sleep) and lots of palm trees and flowers.
The entertainment was first class. My hat goes off to Sarah and her team. In particular Tony and Paul and their very British sense of humour. It beats me how they can spend all day entertaining both kids and adults and then, in the evening, run the kid's disco and put on a 2 hour show. What energy ! They were superb and I hope they are paid well. Somebody mentioned that the entertainment was hardly West End. I've done my fair share of package holidays over the last 25 years and this was by far and away the best and most professional ents team that I've come across.
The rooms were very clean and every night there is a team of folk out the cleaning pool area and the gardens.
The not so good bits:
By 8am every morning all the sunbeds were bagged with towels - depsite all the notices asking guests not to do so. It is somthing that really annoys me but the only way to get a place by the pool was to do the same. The hotel mgmt need to sort this out because I'm sure some people just left their towels there all day without ever visiting the pool.
We were half board and the food was OK but not 4 star (
I passed on the green sausages that we had one morning). There was always plenty of choice so we never went hungry but it didn't have that wow factor. Our 2 year old always found something that she liked. The food was definitely geared towards the German/Dutch tourists in the hotel - Salami for breakfast etc.
A lot of the coast line was covered in seaweed when we were there. Found it a bit offputting when you can't see your feet in the sea. Went to C'an Picafort one day and it was even worse there.
Tips:
Make the most of happy hour (2 for 1 between 7pm-8pm and 11pm-12pm) as the prices for drinks in the hotel are quite expensive. (3.5 Euros for a beer, 5 Euros for G & T). Discovered that happy hour also includes bottles of wine !
Be careful if you have a room with a late check out. Our travel agent told us 8pm checkout but the hotel wanted us to leave at 6pm. Didn't know anything about it until the maid turned up to clean our room at 6.15pm. I was stood there in my towel with nothing packed !!
The bus service was good (if a little crowed) and it only cost 1 Euro to go Alcudia or Can Picafort (much nicer than Alcudia).
Take some mossie spray - the resort is next to a nature reserve and we did have a few bites.
Summary:
Playa Gardens is an ideal hotel for families or people looking for a quiet holiday. If you want lots of restaurants, shops and discos then this isn't the place for you. I would definitely go back especially if I knew that Sarah and Paul were going to be entertaining the guests next year.

| said: Well what can I say ? I really enjoyed my holiday at the Playa Gardens and didn't want to come home.
The pool is beautiful ! The building itself is stunning ! When you lay by the pool, you feel as though you are in paradise !
I'd like to pay particular attention to the food and the entertainment. Firstly the Mexican themed buffet night is a definate hit with me ! Infact all the buffet food that I ate at the Playa Gardens was really nice and so was the price!
The entertainment team are unbelivable !!!! I don't know how the keep going ? They organise activities all day (water volleyball, rifle shooting, cake & tea by the pool, sandcastle competitions for the kids) the list is endless ! And then when you think that they couldn't possibly have anymore energy..... they put on a brilliant performance in the evening ! (when do they find time to practise?!)
I would strongly recomend this place for families. My own daughter was in her element all week ! The kids club is very good too.
If I had to find something to moan about, then it would be the air conditioning. When we were there they seemed to be having problems with it.
I only wish that we had gone for 2 weeks, instead of 1 week. We will be going back soon !!!!!!!!!!!!!

| said: Just got back and felt I had to add a report as we had such a great time.
First of all the hotel. Spotless, from the reception to your room, the gym to the pool. The gardens around the hotel were superb like someone said 'just like the brochure. All the hotel staff were really helpful and always had a smile and said hello, even the gardeners.
The location was excellent, literally a 30 second walk from the pool to the beach! It is situated at the quieter end of Alcudia, just a pity there wasn't 3 or 4 more restaurants around. We went into Alcudia but we were really pleased that we stayed where we did.
The food in the restaurant and snack bar was ok, not the best I’ve had but certainly no where near the worst. Tried the buffet a couple of times but would probably only recommend the barbecue one.
The entertainment through the day was excellent with various pool sports to do as well as archery, darts and pool etc. The evening entertainment was good with all the reps and entertainment staff doing an excellent job and they're all hoping to be there next year.
All in all the best holiday I would say we've had.
Thanks again to everyone there for a great time. Gaitan is the best barman ever and Dani the best waiter! Jimbob, Norbert and Gary are great performers. Finally, the best till last! Cheers Tony, Kay, Anders and Curtis, you four were great entertainers, reps etc. Oh yeah...one thing. DON’T play basketball or volleyball with Tony. He’s too tall!!! Hope to see you all next year, Cheers.

| said: Have just got back from a week at Playa Gardens and wanted to add a review after reading others before I went.
I'll start with the good points.
The apartments are great, people have said the kitchen area is too small, what d'you expect!! It was more than adequate with toaster, kettle, fridge and microwave. Also air con was very much appreciated in the heat.
The pool was very clean and safe, every evening it was cleaned (someone said it wasn't!)
The area is quiet but we wanted that. It is easy to hop on a bus to Can Picafort and Alcudia (1Euro) although we didn't stop at Alcudia as it looked horrible, just like Blackpool which is fine if you want that...we didn't so stayed on a couple more minutes and went to Alcudia old town with real Spanish charm and lovely restaurants which were just as cheap as anywhere else.
The bad points..............
Most people have said to try the buffet, WHY? It wasn't cheap as for the price of one adults meal you could eat and drink for four people elsewhere! Also, it is outside and as Playa de Muro is situated in a national park there are loads of flies about which were all over the food...
Then there was the 'entertainment' HA!HA! Some people said it was like a westend show, well I thought they meant in London not Bognor!
Then there was the soccer school which I won't go on about but would NOT recommend after a series of cockups.
All in all though would def recommend it as it is a lovely, clean apartment block with peace if you want it, Alcudia if you want a wild night out, Can Picafort for a quieter night and the gorgeous old town if ,like us, you go to Spain to experience Spain (and not Blackpool at 34 degrees!!)!!
Enjoy!

| said: Sent here as a last minute change by travel agent who had a problem with booking. Definately a result, very pleased with both standard of rooms and pool area which was excellent. Had to get your sunbeds by 8 but this was no problem as i got up every morning for swim in pool followed by very enjoyable run along the beach which is right next to appartments. The kitchen area was very small but was only used for a cuppa or occasional bacon sandwich so no problems there. The staff were always very helpfull and friendly and i thought the entertaiment was very good and enthusiastic. It may have paled a bit over 2 weeks but for the week we were there thought it was very good. I travelled with my 19 year old daughter and boyfiend plus my 17 old son and mate, as well as my wife and we all thought it was excellent, wish i had discovered it when the kids were younger.
Had the buffet a couple of times and thought it was fine, not fancy but then we weren't paying fancy prices. Used the snack bar a couple of times and again fine for what you paid.
Weather was superb, very sunny but the breeze from the sea kept it from being stifeling. Didn't bother to hire a car as only there for a week, did a couple of trips, one to Palma the other to water park. Both were fine, no doubt you could have saved a few euros by shopping around and hiring a car, but what the hell, as far i was concerned the convenience and no hassle was well worth the extra few euros, after all that's what a holiday is for --relaxing.
All in all an excellent holiday, next time i go to alcudia would almost certainly use them again

The entrance and reception area of the hotel are very grand and extremely clean a great first impression.
Our request for a high floor apartment with a pool or sea view was met, we had views over both. Fantastic.
The waiters were great fun very warm and friendly especially Maribelle,Tony,Salva, lucas and Dani. All reception staff were friendly and couldn't help enough.
The food in the hotel was good . Good restuarants near by or jump in a taxi and head to Alcudia.
Our rep Diane was very bubbly and always made time to ask if our stay was enjoyable. All the children's club reps chatted and were friendly even though our two daughters never attented the clubs. A truly fantastic team that I would be glad to leave my children with.
The entertainment team where do you start. Fantastic. Sarah is the boss and she loves her job she ooses enthusiasum and vigor on the stage. She also puts up a good fight on her lilow in its a knockout!!
Curtis and Tony are brill guys great singers and always ready for a laugh.Kay is a really talented girl and has the looks to go with it,she has the voice of an angel. We got close to Kay and spoke to her on many an evening I'm sure your talent will be discovered and you will go far.Andrea is a great dancer and always up for a laugh. Well done everyone not forgetting Anders on the sound and lights.
We would definately return to this hotel again its in a quieter area and we find this suits us well as a family.

Flew with Spanair - very basic, booked our seats together but ended up with one of us in row 3 and the rest of us in row 23.Apartments fine for the short time we were in them. Location - the best ever with the beach on your doorstep. Pool Area quite spacious - had to be up about 8.00 for sun beds, whats new about that. Staff excellent and entertainment crew were brilliant, something for all ages, even adults, the kids (14 and 9)loved it. Pool bar ok for snacks, buffet food ok, a bit bland but the desserts were yummy. Seemed to be a Happy Hour every few hours in the bar.Restaurant directly across the road disappointing - but for a €5.00 taxi ride away ther were some lovely restaurants. All in all it was a great holiday.

Hotel kept up to very high standard with grounds constantly being tended and maintenance people very quick if any problems. Rooms very clean with well stocked kitchen area.
Reception staff superb and general facilities very clean. Always someone around to help if needed.
What really makes this holiday though are the Entertainers and I promised to mention them as I know they read this web site - so a huge thank you to all these very talented people who couldn't be friendlier with a special hello to the following who I met last visit, Sarah, Tony, Kay and last but by no means least my daughter's favourite, Curtis - wonder what time he got home on our last night? I can't forget Joline, Anders and Inger - dreadful spelling but they will know who I mean
I don't think you could find a better family holiday if you have children in tow - they are looked after from morning till night with all the various activities laid on and the adults are well looked after too - my husband played football and water polo - yep I can still hear Tony cry- I'm in charge!! ha ha.
The world is a big place with so many places to see but if you can squeeze in a visit to this hotel you wont be disappointed!
We could not fault First Choice with anything other than - ditch Iberworld as your airline....unless you like eating bricks with ham and cheese!
Enjoy!

It is in a quiet location out of Alcudia but we like this as we have a 3 year old and a fourteen year old, we find there is no need to leave the complex as the entertainment is fab and the food is good. There are restaurants in the area which are also good. Yes you do need to get up early to to get a sunbed as the pool area is popular, this is not a problem to us as we don't go on holiday to stay in bed all morning. The apartments are the cleanest I have stayed in and the food in the restaurant is good quality, with very friendly service from the waiters. The service from hotel reception staff and cleaners was excellent and the entertainment team were the best I have seen.

| said: This was the best holiday i have ever been on. Kids loved it. They made loads of new friends due to wavelength. Kevin the rep is fantastic and a bit of a hunk if i do say so myself. We got a lot of time to ourselves as the kids were always with friends at the pool and 'crash out sessions' during the evening. Absolutely fantastic. I would love to take my hat off to kevin and his great attitude towards my children. They loved it.
The night-time entertainment was a hoot. The team were fantastic and very very good at getting people to join in with games.
Location was great, really close to the beach and no roads to cross so great if you have small children.
Staff were great. Cant really say much else about them. Good friendly attitude though.
Only bad thing about this hotel was the food. It was ok if you were on a diet but not edible at all. Dont apy for the sunday night meal as it is disgusting. Although the place right next door is delicious. Im not quite sure of the name of this cafe but the kids insist that its called 'tonys'. lovely food and english waiters aswell! Bonus. Cheap and they sometimes forget to add drinks to the bill which was a plus for us as our kids were very thirsty due to running around all day.
The apartments were extremely clean and maids were very friendly. Fresh towels every day and lovely peopleto have visit your apartment.
I would love to visit playa garden again and cant wait until we save up to go again.

| said: Having read all reports prior to travelling, I must say I agree with most of it.
We flew out of Cork Airport - supposed to be a direct flight to Palma but NO, as the numbers were down, the wonderful First Choice people decided to send us on a diversion through Shannon - so what was supposed to be a 2 hr 20 min flight turned into a 5 hour flight. Basically, spent from 6 a.m. - 6 p.m. travelling! Not impressed with flight being diverted.
Rooms cleaned 5 days out of 7. Average cleaning.
4 Star Complex - NO WAY - Been in loads of 3 stars and no difference.
Didn't eat there due to Reports I read on this site however, having spoken to many other guests whilst there, none had anything favourable to say about the food. Restaurant quite which said it all. Did eat twice in the Papaya Snack Bar - crap food - usual greasy chips etc. dreadful salad. Pricey for what you get.
Value for money overall in hotel/complex - BAD!
Approx €49. euro a day to hire a car - we went to a car hire 5 min walk up the road and hired a car for 8 days for €200.00 airconditioning, c.d. the lot!!! Next to Spar Supermarket, can't remember the name. Granted, it was a quite time of the season. Lady in car hire most helpful & Pleasant - middle aged blonde.
Hired a buggy for our toddler - cost €3.90 a day!! What a crap basic old cheap buggy it was. You would buy one here for €30. not joking! and it would be more manageable.
Didn't bring any beach towels with us, misunderstood that we could get these by paying a deposit and presumed that deposit would be returned once towels returned. .90 cent a day to hire a beach towel - okay that doesn't seem much, but if you have a family of four that's €50.00 for 14 days!! I am NOT mean but you do get the feeling that you are being ripped off for everything in the complex. Everything is an extra.
I rung home once from the phone in the hotel lobby - I couldn't put my money in fast enough.
AS FOR THE WELCOME PACK, WHAT A JOKE. Very VEry Stale bread. 2 bars of Spar White Chocolate. Shrivelled up apples & oranges. Shelf milk ( you know the kind that lasts 3 months eugh..) Beans. Butter (hard as a rock). Only decent thing was bottle of water and spar fizzy orange for kids.
Satellite T.V. CNN and MTV 2. MTV 2 played the same music and features for the entire two weeks. Still, better than nothing.
Cooking area as said by everyone previous, the usual tiny cooking area. I did cook 2 meals and we had 2 lunches in, only because there wasn't one nice restaurant in the area. By the way, the steakhouse across the road is owned by the same people who own the restaurant. The first night we got a steak we thought it was good. Went back another 2/3 times - NOT IMPRESSED. Glad we had car hired, as we headed to Alcuida port most evenings which was great.
Entertainment for kids - great. There really was loads for them to do there, if you wanted them to or indeed if they wanted to. Kids reps. great.
Nightly entertainment, okay for first couple of nights, but it's the same people up on the stage every single night singing and dancing. The acts never change. The shows do - yes, but the people are the same. It was quite ridiculous what the entertainment people have to do. You would feel sorry for them. We wouldn't have gone to the evening shows only for the fact that our kiddies love the mini disco and it was the highlight of their day, so we always brought them to it.
The pool area is fine - huge area, lots of pools, baby, kiddies ... By the end of May, it was getting very busy and hard to get a sun lounger by the pool.
Another thing ( I know this seems like an endless moan ) is you really have to watch your bills everywhere and your change - when I say "everywhere", I mean in the REsort. I had to point out "numerous" mistakes on our food bills in various Restaurants. Also, had to point out about wrong change being given in shops. Previous people mentioned watch your change in the Complex supermarket, however, I disagree with this. I always checked my change and bill and it was fine. They always give you a REceipt and there is a big sign on the til saying to bring back your receipt if you have a problem as they can not refund without it, so it seems they are aware of it.
I want to mention the hotel staff - they were all so friendly - the reception staff are excellent, the maintenance people come as soon as you call with a problem (our toilet went a bit funny twice) and you do get the impression that they are very willing to impress and give a good standard of service however, there was ONE waiter in teh restaurant / bar at night who did cause us a bit of bother, on our second night, he came with our bill after 3 rounds of drink and about 5/6 other drinks whcih we did not consume were added on to it which of course we pointed out - at the time it was rectified and there didn't seem to be a problem. HOwever, on the subsequent nights, this ONE WAITER would refuse to serve us, we were left waiting what felt like half the night, before an order woudl be taken. Anyway, one night, we arrived at 7:55 to bring our kids to mini disco, sat down, kids had a great time, disco finished 8:20 approx and not one person came to take our order in this time and the place was very quite. Enough was enought, we immediately took our grievances to REception, explained everything. It really p****d us off to put it mildly. You don't need this crap when you are on holiday. So we were reassured it woudl be dealt with. The next night we went back in 8 p.m. mini disco and yes, we were served immediately and from then on. However, you did get the feeling you were being talked about by the waiters etc. etc. Interestingly enough, we saw the very same thing happen with this same WAITER towards the end of our holiday, people questioning his bill - again, the bill was rectified and he was soo apologetic to these people, falling all over them. So be warned. No , I DON'T REMEMBER HIS NAME AND I DON'T WANT TO. But really, you should get a bill after every drink and if it is being left to build up, watch it!!!!!!
What else can I say, we had a great holiday, very relaxing, weather good mostly, a couple of cloudy days - wouldn't go to Majorca again in May! This is our third holiday in Majorca, and I don't think we will be going back again next year. We paid over €2k for our holiday, spent nearly another €2k whilst there, and really, it's alot to pay for sunshine and crap food and crap attitude and crap self catering facilities. I've had enough of apartments. I'm going for a Villa/Bungalow/ even a caravan next year and maybe, we'll try out Italy or France. CAn't take much more of package holidays.

| said: We stayed in the very popular and much talked about Playa Garden Apartments. This was my first time returning to Mallorca for 4 years and there is quite a lot of changes since. The area that we stayed in was nice, a little far from Alcudia but still accessable. The hotel is situated in the Albufera which is a nature reserve, which meant lots of little annoying flying things but you get used to them.
The rooms were more than enough to cope with my and my wife as well as the kids. The living area was big with TV and sofas and also the kichen area, however it did take a while to get a cot. We hardly used the kitchen as we ate out mostly. We had a nice view of the stage outside from our balcony, which we requested from first choice, and got! We didn´t really stay and watch shows from our balcony, we went down and joined in the fun! It was great.
I didin´t really get time to meet all of the team of entertainers, but in the time I stayed there, I felt like I had got to know them very well. The team consisted of Tony, Phil, Curtis, Sarah and Alex. You will not find an entertainment team as confident and outgoing as these guys, even if the lads were a little insane (no offence meant by this). They gel very well and work very professionally together. Their shows included Abba which was fantastic to arrive to, a Broadway show (a little long) and We will Rock You, which went down fantastically after lots and lots of beer and lots of queen music. Must say, that sarah´s voice is fantastic!
We also signed Abbie in for their Childrens Day, where the entertainers take the kids off for the day. This was great! A day to ourselves! She come back covered in Spaghetti and various other food stuffs, ther reason for this was Phil caused a food fight (one of the entertainers)! She absolutely loved the day and we wish that there could be more than one a week!!
On the whole, the entertainment kept us within the hotel, we rarely ventured out at all during our stay. Must say that Curtis ought to improve on his rifle shooting! Bit of a sore loser. Don´t go to this hotel if you want to hide away and be boring as these guys wont have it! It is a fantastic hotel, good food, lovely staff throughout and fabulous entertainment for the kids and adults!
Thanks to all staff there, we will see you in 2004 - Guaranteed!!!

| said: Accommodation exceptionally spacious and clean - regular change of linen and towels. Small kitchen but packed full of crockery etc. Fabulous welcome pack on arrival. Food in restaurant choice not great and quite slow but good supermarket on site and Alcudia and C'an Picafort 10 mins away in either direction. Entertainment the best I have seen, children and adults catered for and not full of idiots. Mainly Irish, English, German and Swedish guests all of which mixed really well - we were the only people from Scotland at that time and on the Robbie Willimas tribute night (which was amazing) had a real laugh about this. No need to venture outwith complex at night unless you are looking to go clubbing as this is non-existent. A fantastic place for people with children of all ages. Going back for 2 weeks very soon!

| said: the playa gardens are about as good as you could get, they are immaculate and very well maintained the gardens around the apartments are absoloutely beautiful just a stones throw away from the beach. the staff are on the whole ok. the animation team work very hard and the nightly shows are worth staying in for ( dan and curtis are brilliant guys) one of the only down falls of the animation team is that phil takes himself a little to seriously and needs to chill and remember that we are their for a bit of fun.
food not to bad in hotel and resort as a whole (do not try the chinese down the road ) but found it very expensive since the euro was introduced as for the taxis these men must be millinaires by now charging us about 10 euros to alcudia which is 10 mins away. all in all a great place to stay and definatley one of the best in alcudia and we have seen many.

playa gardens is about as good as it gets in alcudia .the place is very clean ;well maintained;staff so so ;animators try hard to entertain and keep you amused .the nightly shows are worth staying in for (except the queen night) the only down side of playa gardens is getting into alcudia is rather expensive about 10 euros .try can picafort which is nearer and not as commercialised .food to is good. all in all a nice place for a family to go to .also look out for a guy called DAN the most genuine of the animators there

| said: This is an excellent location for families with younger children. The complex is excellent and the apartments are very good and kept very well, with air con. Just two gripes:
1-The kitchen area is tiny and as you will be tempted to cook in a bit I'll say more about this later
2-The satellite TV is useless to english speakers and has nothing for kids.
Our two children (7&10) made friends and played around the pool all of the time and had a ball. The kids clubs were useless but the hotel activities for kids did offer something. However, these were not needed as once the kids setteled in the occupied themselves in a very safe environment.
One of the best thinks was the beach. It only about 20 yards beyond the complex out through a back enterance. If you intend to go to the beach regularly don't get a sunbed but instead buy a umbrella and straw mats in a local shop and use your towel. Beach is lovely and very safe. You can wade out 100+ meters and still be within your depth.
The night entertainment is very good, mostly music (Abba, Beatles etc) or other acts. Bars close after 12 so it quiet at night. The biggest gripe. the standard of food at the resort is very poor and the cost for both food and drink is extremely high. However the house wine was good value and a good drink. Back to the small kitchen, when you want to cook, as you will do with the children, its tiny. Also the local shops don't do meat and hardly any veg or salads. Get on the local bus (every 15 min) and got to the large supermarket towards Alcudia. You get off at stop 19 if I remember correctly. Alcohol is much cheaper here than getting it locally.
There is pool etc in the hotel but if you go to the arcade accross the road, all of these things are half price.
Finally, Air 2000 food was disasterour. I regularly use them going skying and they are excellent but the trip to Majorca is very different.
All in all a great place for kids and thus adults really remain stress free. We will be back.
PS. if you get really fed up with the food, and something good and authentic, go to Bodega des port in Alcudia. A bit expensive but well worth it.

| said: Okay, I need to get this out: I LOVE PLAYA GARDEN! No, seriously, I want to live there!
The best part of the hotel is the entertainment team, and I fell madly in love with one of them. His name is Torjorn but everyone calls him Topsy and he is gorgeous! As you can imagine, I am a love-sick teenager!!!
The hotel is absolutely beautiful, and I dont know what everyone is talking about because the food is wonderful. Me and my family ate on the terraces every night (Hibiscus Garden), watching the Gardenito disco at 20:00, and then the main show at 21:30. The shows are brilliant and the entertainers are so talented. The shows vary from Abba to West End Musicals and Elvis Presley!
You have to visit Playa Garden some time in your life, as it is the best hotel ever, (and I have been around!).
The activities are endless, and during the day Topsy and the Gang (Ian, Anna, Sarah and Alex) do lots of things to keep you occupied when you are not on the beach next door or in the pool! There is bingo and Cafe Garden (waffles = yum yum!) and other sports like volley ball and rifle shooting. The kids will have a whale of a time and you won't want to come home!!! I can guarantee that!
So everyone, GO TO PLAYA GARDEN AND TAKE ME WITH YOU!!!!!!

| said: Travelled with 2 Adults and 2 children aged 5 and 8. Had a fantastic holiday, complex spotless and children loved the pool which is safe for all ages. Tax for 2 adults was 28 euros for 14 nights. Was a bit more expensive to eat on the complex but there are good restaurant/cafes nearby, about 5-10 mins walk. Portabello at the end bit more pricey (only about 5 euros or so)than the others but had more variety, both had very generous portions, didn't find it expensive. We preferred being out of the main resort but found it easy to go 'into it' if and when we wanted, either by taxi (8 euros to alcudia harbour) or get the sea bus just off the jetty at Alcudia Pins next door 12 euros. There is a problem with the towel brigade! but you do get a bed eventually. The hotel entertainment team are very good, something going on for all ages at some time of the day. There is an indoor pool with jacuzzi, ask at reception for the key, sauna, and basic gym, internet cafe in reception area. Very pretty complex that for once looks just like it does in the brochure. Would highly recommend this complex for children under 10, there were activities posted for kids over 12 but cant comment on those. Kitchen area is very small, air conditioning is a god send and you can adjust it yourself. There were a few mozzies when we were but were told June was the worse month for them. Beach next to hotel is a bit shaley but walk down to in front of Iberostar hotel and its lovely, beach at the harbour is glorious. We hired a bike and went to can picafort and you can walk to Los Gaviantos in about 20 mins. Staff and local people are very friendly and helpful. We thoroughly enjoyed this holiday and were sad to go. Air 2000 flight food is dire! Stale sandwich with some sort of filling and cup cake, thats there and back!

| said: Just got back, and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay.Yes the food in the hotel was expensive but you have the option of self catering (there are supermarkets nearby)Pool was great went in the water once and actually got a sunbed once.Really annoying to see all the beds with towels on and nobody using them, and yes its the Brits and The Irish to blame.Rooms were spotless.Welcome pack very welcome as we didnt arrive untill 5am,and had a note from our rep to say our welcome meeting was at 11am-With two small children 8 and 3 --NO chance. The reps went up to much anyway.Only intersted if your were booking trips.Dont go on Pirates for the price overated go to Son Amar show BRILLIANT.We didnt hire a car as we found the local buses good though full, but they ran every 15mins so got about ok.Glad we didnt stay in Centre of Alcudia.Very busy road to cross to get to the beach. We perfered Can Picafort.Cost 1Euro each on the bus and in our opinion better shops and resort.Reception staff had a lot more knowledge than the reps, talk to Hamish he will point you in the right direction etc.Kids club good yes you have to pay for some activitys (we do in our country).Staff here were good.We were sad to leave, but got picked up at midnight-no rep on coach just Spanish speaking driver. No rep at the airport to point you in the right direction but we actually seen one offering a sweet while you wait at checking. One final note on Air 2000.Great on time but what ever you served us on the plane-You call it food----dont bother.Just give us a packet of crisps and a drink because I wouldnt feed that to a dog.

you stepped away from the pool straight on to the beach no roads to cross at all ideal if you are just looking for a pool/beach holiday. not so good tho if you want to go out and about you will nead a car my son had a fab time in the pool taking swimming lessons that are available at a charge on site. the evening entertainment for the children could not be faulted cant comment on the day time kids clubs as did'nt use them but all the staff seemed realy friendly only downfall was that the bar staff where very slow but hey your on holiday whats the rush! no need to pay for late check out of room as showers and towels are made available for you yo use and cases can be left in a locked room
will defently look at returning again next year

| said: We travelled with Falcon holidays who use Futura airlines as their carrier from Belfast International. Will never again book with any company using that airline, second rate, cheap food on board atrocious. Palma airport to Alcudia is a long drive, about 1 hour 30 mins but scenery compensates for that. First impression of complex was a claen well run establishment with minimum of fuss on check-in. Apartments are basic enough although they contain all that is required including welcome pack, a godsend for any late arrivals, but 4 star I don't think so. Sat TV in rooms but unless you want to watch CNN news then not much else offered. Rooms are cleaned 5 days a week, Wednesday and Sunday missed, ours was missed on the Saturday and even a call to reception did not help with the excuse that they had many check in and outs on that day. The complex has a good slection of restaurants and prices. The big plus was that a 1 minute walk from our apartmnt had us sitting with our feet in the Mediterranean. Beach cleaned every day, deck chairs and sun shades expensive at about £7 a day. Big minus is that the complex is a fair distance from Alcudia town, buses every 15 mins and Taxi's available at nearby Taxi stand or by asking at reception.
In summing up a nice family complex but definitly over rated and over priced 4 star.

| said: Very clean, lovely gardens and great pool for the kids. Even tho the reps ask u not to reserve the sunbeds you can gurantee they will all have a towel on them by 8am, no bods tho!!!
Hotel surrounded by other 4 and 5* hotels and not much else so very expensive to eat out, dinner for three of us cost approx £60 and the veg was over cooked and cold. The staff do their best to placate you if you complain or query something but finding my complimentary pina collada appeared on my garden card bill wasn't appreciated.
The nearest big resort Porto D'Alcudia is a fair bus ride away.
Firt Choice reps seem helpful when they want you to book excursions, but when i queried the pick up time for our flight back no one got back to me and they weren't in reception when they were supposed to be.So i wasn't inpressed with that. Especially as we were on an early flight back.
Great for families with small children but my 16yo was bored to death, bar shuts at 1am too, so if you like to sit a while while the kids are asleep u have to do it on your balcony.

| said: The hotel was spotless. The hotel staff and the entertainment team were very good too.The gardens and the cleanliness could not be faulted the pool was also spotless ans cleaned every night.
we found that the first choice children clubs wern't up to much as everything they did you had to pay for like looney tune parties. There was no club for my twelve year old as it didnt start till July we ended up joining in with the entertainment team from the hotel instead.
The welcome meeting wasnt much use neither it was just a sales pitch instead of telling you about the important things they told us all about the shows we could pay to see or the activities we could pay to do.It is the most expensive holiday we have ever had, the drinks and food in the hotel were quite expensive.
The hotel is situated on the beach which was very nice and had a very nice beach bar.
You did feel as though you were in the middle off no where because it is about a 20 minute walk to the next town.
We actually got use to it by our second week.
Like i say i couldnt fault the hotel but all our problems were with first choice. They didnt point out that you had to pay for the onsite doctor and they said that the cots were complementary but when we arrived they wern't.
