Kontokali Bay is in a stunning location, the pool terrace overlooks the beach and Albania.

The beach had lots of sun loungers available (even in August when we were there) and it was always clean. We preferred a lounger on the pool terrace, and had to get there by 8am to 'reserve' the beds! The hotel provides beach towels which you collect from the beach using your room card.

Breakfast was varied, again lots of seating, staff always available and very attentive.

Lunch was served in the beach side taverna and was a BBQ and a choice of different things each day (lasagne, local dishes), salads, fruit in a buffet style so you could choose what you wanted. It typically cost around 8€ per person including a drink (£5) and we ate there every day because it was a little too far to Kontokali.

The rooms were very clean, a little dated but the hotel plans to redecorate over this winter. The maids cleaned every day, and never knocked before 9am, usually they cleaned our rooms between 11am and 2pm. We found the mattresses a little hard but you get used to them. The hotel is in a very quiet location so we got good nights sleep each night. We had a bay view, which overlooks gouvia marina, and was a lovely view, especially in the evening. Our travel companions had a sea view room, which in our opinion is the view you have all day by the pool or on the beach, and at night was not as nice as the bay view.

We hired a boat from the hotel on 2 occasions and took it up round the coast which made a lovely break from the heat and the views were lovely of all the bays. The boat hire cost around 70€ (£50) for 4 hours for 4 of us including the fuel and insurance.

We were bed and breakfast, and it is possible to eat in the hotel restaurant for 13€ (£7) a night. To eat in the restaurant men must wear long trousers. We ate in Corfu Town a couple of nights, which we found was good for shopping, but the restaurants were a little more expensive than in Kontokali or Gouvia.

Gouvia was around 8-10€ in a taxi from the hotel and was a nice place to eat.

There are no shops nearer than a 15 mins walk from the hotel, there is an on site shop but it is really only any good for newspapers, and did not sell water (which the hotel charged 3 times more for than from the local shops).
Drinks in the hotel bar were also above the average price for the area.

The evening entertainment is in the beach side taverna, and was okay, not really worth staying in at the hotel for.

The hotel was very clean, the staff on reception were usually always helpful. There is one computer free to use with internet access.

Make sure you take mosquito repellent!

On the whole, we had a fantastic time, but would have liked the hotel to be a little bit closer to restaurants and bars for the evening. Kontokali Bay has fantastic views and is very relaxing.

Kontokali Bay hotel,Corfu.

Nice hotel but we might have been a bit to early in the season, room smelt stuffy and not used,we thought that the hotel was just opening the painters and gardeners were working every day.

Staff were good and helpful,no entertainment,a la carte was not open but the buffet food was very good, try and get a room with a sea view,

We have just come back from week honeymoon and we had a great time.

The hotel is about 10-15 minutes by taxi from airport(12-15euro) and set in quiet beachside location with exstensive gardens. The hotel was voted thompson best delux 2001 and is very nice all over.

The hotel rooms have double and single bed, mini-bar, aircon, bedside music and good marble bathroom with shower over bath. Fresh bed linen and towels everyday

We had a sea front room and the views were stunning, looking over the bay with mainland greece in the distance. I would get a room with sea view again

The hotel is in quiet location and enjoyed a peacefull sleep every night.

On half board we had a huge dinner selection of excellent food from pasta to greek fare. You are spoilt for choice and there was pleanty of salads, meat, fish and pasta to keep everyone happy.

The food was excellent and of high standard, I think the platefulls that everyone had spoke for itself.

Breakfast for us was some fruit so we were happy, again there was everthing you could want.

Drink to go with meals and from the bar were ok, 2,60e for mythos beer, 1L water 1,20e. The prices werent to bad for a 5 star.

lunch is severed in the beachfront taverna-this is a vast area on the beach and again prices were very good, 3,50e for salad bowl, fresh pork with full trimmings ect 7,50e.
We eat lunch here everyday and it was great, waiting staff are prompt and always say hello and have a chat with you.

The beach is private and you get full size beach towel everyday and we had no problems getting loungers. These are all included so no need to pay for anything. It was very warm and a gentle sea breeze helps to keep you cool. the sea gently slopes so kids can play and swim. There is a watersports area that offers the normal stuff and water taxi to surrounding areas if you like that.

Overall we would go back again and we loved a relaxing holiday with no problems at all. Staff, hotel and food were excellent.

well worth a visit

We were very impressed indeed with the Kontokali Bay Hotel. We stayed a week but wished we had stayed longer. The hotel was in a beautiful spot and had its own private beach which was very accessible - a few steps or a lift. The views from the hotel and beach were fantastic. The staff were so friendly and happy!
Our room was lovely and my mother was in an equally large adjoining room. All areas of the hotel were spotlessly clean and cared for, and the public toilets were cleaned every hour.

The food was mostly very good with excellent choices and was buffet style.

The entertainment took place in the open air beach bar and although there was something on most nights it was somewhat amateurish. This did not really bother us as we preferred to chat on the terrace but I suppose is worth noting.

We would definately return to this hotel again.

Fantastic hotel.

Our room was in one of the chalets (bungalows) adjacent to the hotel. A large room with ensuite, air con, TV, minibar and terrace. It was very quite and just a short walk to the main hotel building.

Food was excellent.

Staff friendly and polite.

The hotel has its own private beach on the doorstep with plenty of free sunbeds and beach towels. It also has one outdoor pool which is never busy.

There is a large beachfront bar and entertainment area which has a buffet lunch every day - food here is also brilliant.

There are also watersports, tennis courts and beautiful gardens.

The hotel is in a quiet area and it's a 10 min walk to other restaurants and pubs etc.
