Crown Princess Cruise Ship Reviews
Crown Princess Ship Information

This impressive ship features spacious interiors and a wide range of attractive public rooms and intimate places. It offers plenty of activities for adults and children alike and easily seems to absorb the large number of passengers carried. Passengers on the Crown Princess tend to be mixed ages and American and British depending on region and ship.. When all cabins have double occupancy, the ship provides a space ratio of 36.6 tons per passenger and a crew to passenger ratio of one for every 2.6 passengers. At full capacity the space ratio is 29.7 tons per passenger and the crew ratio is one to 3.2 passengers.

We have just returned from 2 wonderful weeks sailing aroung the Caribbean on the fantastic Crown Princess. This ship is wonderful - very large but it never felt overcrowded and we didn't have any problems finding a sunbed, even on sea days. The ship is kept immaculately clean, there was maintenance work going on while we were onboard (varnishing rails, etc). We had an inside cabin which was absolutely fine for the 2 of us - the bed was massive and very comfortable). The only thing we missed not having a window was when we woke up we didn't have a clue if it was the morning or still the middle of the night! The rooms were kept very clean by Carlos, our steward, and every night when we returned to our room he had left us a chocolate on the pillow. We had anytime dining and we never had to wait more than 15 minutes for a table. A couple of times we had to share with other people, but this was fine as it gave us a chance to chat to other people and find out their recommendations for trips to the islands we were due to visit for the rest of the holiday. The food was fine - we always managed to find something we liked. We tended to use the Caribe Cafe buffet in the evenings as my OH loved the cakes and could keep going back and getting as many as he liked! We used the Horizon cafe in the morning for breakfast and there was a very wide choice from cereals to fruit to cooked breakfasts. MUTS is excellent - sitting in the hot tub at midnight watching the new James Bond movie - FAB! The majority of the entertainers were American comedians but we didn't always understand their jokes as they were about American politics, TV, etc. The Americans seemed to find them hysterical but it went totally over our heads. I must say that I have to agree with the previous reviewer who said that the Americans laughat anything - they are very over the top and a couple of times we had to move from where we were sitting as they were getting far too drunk and loud. Not much fun when you get back from the pool and they have moved your stuff onto another sunbed so that they can sit next to their friends and got quite aggressive when you said something to them. We only did a couple of trips through Princess and they did tend to be good value for money. The rest of the time we did our own thing and either just got a taxi to a beach or did a tour through one of the tour companies who were always waiting to pounce when you came out of the cruise terminal. Overall, this was a fantastic holiday - one which we will remember fondly for years to come.

A beautiful ship, good food, very friendly and helpfull crew, clean as a whistle! well looked after in all areas. We enjoyed it because we went to enjoy it, and nothing even the Americans were going to get in the way of us having a good holiday.
Without exception, everything is geared around the Americans and their ways, they would laugh at anything on the stage which to our more discerning taste seemed to be pretty poor entertainment, they would clap for no apparent reason, which is annoying and confusing. But they were good for one thing, making my backside look in proportion to my body, they are huge! and boy can they eat, which for us was all part of the entertainment.
Drinks were not cheap and we had a few so we know.
The lifts were almost always full (so many people on board)patience is required. The main thing that we did not like was the fact that the ship did not stay for an evening in any port other than San Juan which was not a place to walk around at night, a late evening in a safe and decent port would have added so much to the holiday.
Cinema under the stars was great, speciality restuarants were great, the quizes and karioke were a real tonic. Over-all it was a good holiday,

Sailed the Caribbean on the Crown Princess. Enjoyed the ship and stateroom was a good size. Our room attendants and waiter staff were just fantastic! However I found the guest relations staff far from helpful which is such a shame as simply issues could have been dealt with on board but were not resolved. Overall Princess cruises customer service is not as good as Celebrity and I would not travel with them again due to their failure to deal with issues. This cruise was our honeymoon and the promised package that they offered in the brochure was not delivered to our stateroom. So what was to be a special cruise just turn out to be just like every other cruise we had done. They did not go that extra mile. Entrtaiment was hit and miss some shows were fantastic others were just rubbish. Overall we had a fantastic cruise because we made it so but Princess customer care leaves a lot to be desired. At the end of the cruise we were overcharged on our bill as they converted our bill to sterling at a very poor exchange rate $1.89 when our own visa card converted at $1.98 and that was even after us signing for them not to convert.
